Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How can you bake without whole eggs?

A. We only use egg whites in our muffins, cinnamon buns and some cookies. Our products bake well yet do not have the cholesterol found in egg yolks.

Q. How do you get that wonderful rich taste and consistency without using butter?

A. We use golden olive oil. It gives a wonderful flavor and provides the lovely crumb of a high quality baked good.

Q. Some of your cookies say they are "vegan." What does that mean?

A. Any products that are vegan contain no animal products. So they do not contain any dairy, egg whites or butter.

Q. How many calories are in each product?

A. One chocolate walnut cookie has approximately 100 calories. One scone has approximately 140 calories. One cinnamon bun has approximately 105 calories. A one-inch square of fudge has approximately 100 calories.

Q. We seem to eat the cookies as soon as they come in the house. But if we wanted to save them for later, how long do they last?

A. The cookies should last about a week. You can freeze them too.

Q. We have a small family. If I order a dozen muffins or scones, how long do they last?

A. Muffins and scones are best when they are eaten right away. The cranberry orange, cinnamon raisin and apricot almond are fine for up to three days. The blueberry should be used in 1-2 days. But they can all be frozen for later use.

Q. I am allergic to nuts. Can I still buy the plain products?

A. All products are made in the presence of nuts. If you are allergic to nuts, you need to consider this. We do have many products without nuts but you must be aware that nuts are in the bakery.
